Indeed it would appear that Anna does not believe in such amazing coincidences!
But evidently she does believe in punching robots in the face. We'll see where that combination of beliefs gets her!

Anna’s instincts remind me a bit of my wife’s (not the explosive temper, though, mind). Every time I ever thought she was being unreasonable in response to one of the kids, it always turned out that her lie detection skills were just vastly superior to mine. Her ability to suss out the little darlings’ lies has always been simply superhuman.

I've always thought human-lie-detector abilities are really neat. Really good poker players who can see through a poker-face, or uniquely capable detectives or whatnot.
Be such a cool skill to have (Though i'm probably imagining it as more of a superpower than it really is ; which is a sort of gamble every time, haha)

Wouldn't be an action comic if the protagonists couldn't punch out a robot without immediately busting all their knuckles I guess.
