Why the string, though?!
Well, before we can get to that - it's story time!
Look at our plucky young Alice here, chipping away at Anna's tough exterior, prod by prod.
Enjoy :D
More on the waaaay ^_^

I knew I recognized the name of the planet from somewhere.
I figure if Greek stories have lasted 2500 years already, what's a couple hundred more to the score!
In which we learn a little Greek Mythology from Anna. She's full of surprises with what she can do and what she knows. I know I appreciate her more than I did just a few pages ago. :)
I'm in the same category as Starsword, I knew Atropos sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember from where and I obviously didn't look it up. I'm just going to claim it's because I was patiently waiting for it to be explained within the context of the story. :D
Good job breaking the ice, Alice. Now, let's see if these two can let bygones be bygones, at least for a little while. ;)
I'm a real fan of old-timey myth stories like the Fates and such. And I figured naming a world after an ancient greek myth hits the nail on the "We're bound to Yesterday" schtick of the comic, haha.
As for Anna, she's grown on me quite a bit in the past while as well! Kind of funny that she started as a random unnamed rebel character, haha
You do a good job telling your story, Mars, so I'm not surprised at all that you managed to flesh her out into a fully realized character. Anna is as damaged as Alice in her own way, but it's clear that she's well worth trying to help. :)
Also, I grew up reading Greek mythology and some of my all time favorite movies from childhood are, by today's standards, campy, but the original Jason & The Argonauts, 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad & the Eye of the Tiger and others of that era and style are still tops in my book. A lot has to do with my deep appreciate of Ray Harryhausen's masterful stop-motion animation work, but the stories themselves are classics that have endured the test of time.
