Reports of her death have been greatly exaggerated.
Which is probably good, because Alice is evidently the type to get rather attached to a project - and Tara has been her project from the start here. Lucky she keeps stumbling upon this friendly, try-hard guard instead of more sinister forces.
Also, this is the first time Alice's has even considered anything less than "Death before surrender!" so that says something!
Hope you enjoy!
Remember PATREON and all that junk :D
Blow an arm off a girl, develop emotionally!
It's classical character development!
And you can't beat the classics, not like you can beat a dead horse! :D
Don't worry. Blood loss is subject to plot speed! They've got all the time they dramatically need!
I've noted this for a while but this story really stands out in its treatment of what would normally be nameless and faceless cannon fodder. I've seen it with a number of the soldiers and even Rodger had his time to shine ... well, you know, before he was lit up.
Haha yeah you mentioned that a while back - and you're not the only one.
I don't know why I emphasize the random characters more than usual (it's not intentional, really) but I DO like stories that are told from various character's perspectives (Tom Clancy books are like this, etc).
Also, it's a theme in the story that i'm focused on that "Evil organizations" (or any organization) is not really made up of "Evil people"
Ie. the Government takes flack, but not EVERY politician is necessarily doing bad things for bad reasons, etc.
Well, you know. Pulling off that facial hair or that beret is no easy task, never mind both.
Maybe the reason is that given your other line of work, you have a greater deal of knowledge and understanding for the so-called characters in the background. They've got lives and hopes and dreams too!
Well, except for Rodger.
I dunno what it is, but I always sympathize with the random dudes in stories haha.
The poor guy who gets his car stolen in some action film? That's his whole damn month ruined, haha. Dude running for cover in a gun fight? Story he'll be telling for the rest of his days, hah. The clerk getting held up at a bank with a gun to her head? PTSD therapy for years after. Etc
The big implications of collateral damage, I guess :P
That is a whole freaking hand and bleeding like hell :/
I do not see this going smoothly but whatever sci-fi equip they have...
I guess dude is just a random soldier who is as confused as anyone :/
Don't worry, just give her a bit and she'll go into the sweet, sweet release of shock.
And then, presumably, bandaids in the future are like a billion times more helpful than today's sticky/cotton medley.
Problem solved!
Wow, that was SOME kiss, Tara!
I'll miss the great beard on Incinerated Guard #1 (or Rodger, if you prefer), but I have to say, his partner guard is being incredibly helpful to an escapee (wounded or not) and the one breaking her out considering everything that's just happened. I hope he doesn't end up being cannon fodder too.
