Bleh, been a hectic week. Barely had time to sit down at the computer, hah.
Anyways, let's find out what Jay's been up to...
Seems he's stumbled upon something a little interesting.
Now, surely abandoning Alice to her own devices and setting off to find Kate wasn't part of the plan, hhmmm??
Interesting, indeed.

Anyways hope you like :D :D
Thanks so much for tuning in ^_^

HEY YOU ALL!
Sorry for the no-page-on-Sunday! I got called into work unexpectedly and haven't had a chance. I'll have SOMEthing up this week, maybe a picture or something haha. Just so you all know I haven't died suddenly or some nonsense. My apologies!

Just read the whole archive in the last day or so (great stuff by the way) and I did wonder, did they perchance ever think of building a second Kate? There might be a market for it, I suspect (what if all this was indeed market testing for mass production and export?)

Thanks man :)

A second Kate? Absolutely.
This is, after all, the trial run of Kine-tech's systems.

However, after this dramatic failure on Atropos, it's going to be hard to sell the idea as a surefire way to secure a world.

To quote the immortal Robocop (1987 version of course) "I had a guaranteed military sale with ED 209 - renovation program, spare parts for twenty-five years... Who cares if it worked or not?"

On that note of doing business ... Come join us, we've got plans ...

She looks nakeder than usual & seams the shy girl. Nervously trying to attract the boy she wants.
Which doesn't jive with KATE the powerful AI. Which isn't human at all.

A complicated entity, this one. Much more than she was designed to be? Or less, depending how you look at it.

Ruh roh, I think we've got a major (heh) attack of plot inbound, folks!

The bigger question though is, why does KATE look like a squishy human? Is she really a human guided AI, or is it a trick of the lighting? Either way, it's good to see she's still alive, even if she is a rather brutal "law" enforcement tool.

Personally, I admire Jay's persistent efforts to humanize KATE and deal with her as an equal, despite the circumstances of their meeting and interactions, because he at least makes an effort to resolve things peacefully before resorting to violence. I'm REALLY looking forward to his face-to-face conversation with the "real" Kate, because I think she is underestimating him, regardless of "knowing everything" about him. :)

Persistent, indeed. But we'll see how things turn out for the good intentioned...
